The new curtain-raiser event to The Open was free to watch and streamed live to a global audience via TheOpen.com, YouTube and TikTok, with ticket holders for Sunday’s practice round relishing the opportunity to witness the action on-course and experience the atmosphere first hand.
The event featured a number of sporting superstars including England football Internationals Jordan Pickford and Jermaine Jenas, NFL Super Bowl Champion Victor Cruz, world-title winning boxer Tony Bellew and Indian cricket icon Yuvraj Singh.
They were joined by Hollywood actress Kathryn Newton, actor and presenter of ITV’s ‘The Chase’ Bradley Walsh, and renowned influencers that include Rick Shiels, Blake Gray, Calfreezy, Margaux Brooke and Marques Brownlee, who boast millions of fans across social media.
The 12 players were split into three teams of four and played the back nine holes of Royal Liverpool in a traditional team scramble format. The teams took on a closest the pin challenge on the brand new 17th hole before showing off their skills in a longest drive competition down the iconic 18th.
