Everything Has Led To This.
The countdown to The 150th Open at St Andrews is on, and to celebrate the phenomenal milestone of golf’s original major and the Championship’s return to the Home of Golf, The Open has commissioned 150 Commemorative 150th St Andrews putters.
With just over a month to go until the ticket ballot for The 150th Open closes, golf fans now have the opportunity to own a special piece of sporting history, as the putters go on sale today.
Matt Tomlinson, Head of Retail, Merchandise and Licensing for The Open, added: "As we build up to The 150th Open we are excited to look back at the journeys of the players, the Championship & the fans. Golf as we know it today can trace its storied lineage. This is the Championship that launched the journey of every player and every fan, and their journey is now part of its journey.
This exclusive and limited edition putter celebrates all those elements, detailing all the past Championships. Everything has led to this."
The limited-edition collectors’ putters are numbered from 1 to 150, and each one comes with a certificate of authenticity, acknowledging it as a genuine product created specifically for The Open. Packaged in a superb box featuring the name of every Open host venue up to and including The 150th Open at St Andrews, every putter is a piece of history that serious fans cannot miss.
The 150th Open, taking place from 10-17 July 2022 in St Andrews, is set to be a true celebration of golf and the long history of the sport’s original major, as well as the many golfing greats who have lifted the iconic Claret Jug, with this iconic putter epitomising the special moment in golf history.
Individual putters will be issued at random from our selection of 150 numbered pieces, and may take up to four weeks to be dispatched from date of purchase. Putters will be sold on a first come, first serve basis, and are now exclusively available at The Open Shop.
