Additional places on offer

The R&A has confirmed that it will increase the number of places available through Final Qualifying for The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool from 16 to 19.

An additional place will be allocated to three of the four venues being used for Final Qualifying based on a strength of field calculation carried out when all competing golfers have started the first round and the actual strength of field is known.

Final Qualifying is taking place at Dundonald, Royal Cinque Ports, Royal Porthcawl and West Lancashire on Tuesday, 4 July and the players will be notified of the revised allocation of places before they commence their second round.
