The 152nd Open posed plenty of questions for the world’s best golfers and, as ever, they were able to produce some stunning answers.
Whether pulling off miraculous escapes, holing out from distance or draining long putts, there were no shortage of standout shots across the four days.
Narrowing them down to four is quite the challenge but that is where the fans come in.
Each day, The Open’s Instagram followers were given the chance to vote for the DOOSAN Shot of the Day winner – and here is who came out on top…
Jaime Montojo
Picture the scene. You are 19 years old, on your first hole in your first major championship. Just imagine the nerves, the butterflies, the thousands of eyes watching your every shot.
Now imagine your approach from 132 yards skips on to the green and lands in the cup for an eagle.
That’s exactly how Jaime Montojo’s maiden Open hole played out in a surreal moment for the Spanish amateur – and one he will never forget.
Jon Rahm
Moments of magic are almost expected from Montojo’s compatriot Jon Rahm these days and he delivered in style during his second round.
Having hit his second shot into a tricky position in the rough short of the 9th green, he somehow made birdie by chipping in with a perfectly-judged effort.
Si Woo Kim
Perhaps the easiest shot of the day vote of the week.
Kim added his name to the record books in two ways with his remarkable ace at the par-3 17th.
The Korean recorded the longest hole-in-one since The Open’s full records began in 1981, at 238 yards, as well as the first ace on that particular hole at Royal Troon.
Harris English
A shot that leaves you wondering quite how he pulled it off.
Harris English was to the left of the green on the 1st hole in his final round, with bunkers lurking, but could not have judged his chip any better.
He holed it to start his Sunday in style with a birdie and scoop DOOSAN Shot of the Day honours.
