A three-time major winner before his 24th birthday, Jordan Spieth took the world of golf by storm in the mid-2010s.
Touted as a potential successor to Tiger Woods, Spieth won The Masters in 2015 and rose to world No.1 following US Open success at Chambers Bay. In one of the greatest seasons in major golf history, he went on to finish T4 at The 144th Open - missing out on a play-off at St Andrews by one shot - and second at the PGA Championship.
Spieth only had to wait two years to get his hands on the Claret Jug. The American either led or co-led every round of The 146th Open but he was overtaken by compatriot Matt Kuchar on the final day at Royal Birkdale following the most dramatic of bogeys on the 13th.
However, like so many of the greats, he produced magic when it mattered most and fought back with three birdies and an eagle in four straight holes to become the youngest recipient of the Claret Jug since Seve Ballesteros in 1979.
Spieth almost added a second Claret Jug in 2021, as he finished second to Collin Morikawa in The 149th Open. He already boasts five top-10 finishes from only nine appearances in golf's original Championship and will be confident of adding significantly to that tally in the years to come.
