Exciting new ways to follow The Open

ShotView for The 150th Open

Fans following The 150th Open will be able to experience golf’s original Championship like never before with the introduction of two exciting new innovations.

ShotView provides enhanced data experience

When the Championship gets under way on Thursday, The Open will have full shot-by-shot data available for the first time.

Working in partnership with NTT DATA, The Open will introduce ‘ShotView’, an innovative experience allowing fans to see live ball positions and routes to hole for every stroke of the Championship.

ShotView will be accessible through The Open leaderboard on TheOpen.com & The Open App. It will allow fans to filter through each hole in the current round, to view the route to hole each player has taken, as well as looking back through previous rounds.

We will also introduce an interactive experience at www.theopen.com/ShotView, allowing you to track the live position of every player on course and access statistics on both specific holes and players. This will be displayed using digital twin technology creating an interactive 3D render of the Old Course.

We hope that this innovation will bring fans closer than ever to The Open, and allow them to immerse in the action in greater depth than ever before.

Live At The Range

The unparalleled TV coverage of The Open will be supplemented by our new Live At The Range show, allowing fans around the world behind the scenes at the practice range, as well as watching all the build-up as players prepare for their journeys to hopefully lifting the Claret Jug.

Broadcast live from Monday 11 July, Live At The Range, in partnership with HSBC, will provide in-depth coverage of the driving range and practice areas at The 150th Open, taking the on-the-ground experience and bringing it to audiences around the world.

Feel the build up

Utilising exciting TopTracer data we will be able to see how players practice, compare them with their fellow competitors and see what adjustments they make for links golf.

Our broadcast team will be anchored by Di Stewart and supported by some of the best commentators & guests in the game.

The channel will be available globally on TheOpen.com and The Open’s YouTube Channel, as well as being broadcast by a number of our partners, including Sky Sports UK who have partnered with The R&A on the production.

Live At The Range will deliver more than 30 hours of live programming starting on Monday 11 July.
