Ryggs Johnston, Curtis Luck and Marc Leishman secured their places at The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush after their performances in the ISPS HANDA Australian Open.

Johnston won the tournament on 18-under-par, three strokes clear of home favourite Luck.

The 24-year-old is the eleventh American to lift the Stonehaven Trophy.

Leishman was tied third with Jasper Stubbs on 14-under, and took the third available qualifying spot courtesy of his higher position in the Official Golf World Rankings.

The 41-year-old hasn’t competed in the Championship since The 150th Open, at St Andrews in 2022, but he did finish T2 in 2015.

It will be a maiden appearance in The Open for both Johnston and Luck. The latter was initially exempt for The 146th Open in 2017 after winning the previous year's US Amateur. However, he then turned professional ahead of The Open and therefore gave up his exemption.

The ISPS HANDA Australian Open was the first event in the Open Qualifying Series for Royal Portrush.

The 153rd Open will take place between 13-20 July 2025.
