This year marks 50 years since Tom Watson’s special connection with golf’s original championship was forged.

From his debut victory as a 25-year-old new to the world of links golf, to the Duel in the Sun with Jack Nicklaus and his iconic resurgence in 2009 – many would argue Watson’s impact on The Open is unmatched.

In his first 15 appearances he won five Claret Jugs and secured a further three top-10 finishes, writing some of the most enchanting chapters in the history of the Championship.
