A hugely significant figure in European golf, Olazabal's most notable triumphs have come in the Ryder Cup and the Masters.
As a player in the Ryder Cup, he boasted a formidable record - particularly when paired with his great friend Seve Ballesteros - and featured in four trophy-winning teams. He then famously captained Europe to victory in 2012 as they came from 10-6 down on the final day in the 'Miracle of Medinah'.
Olazabal's two major victories both came at Augusta, in 1994 and 1999, while he twice earned third-placed finishes at The Open, in 1992 at Muirfield and 2005 at St Andrews. He also made his first major appearance at the Old Course in 1984, as Ballesteros won in thrilling fashion.
