Corey Conners secured a sixth successive appearance at The Open by claiming the sole qualifying place on offer in the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard.
A final-round 71, which featured 17 pars and a crucial birdie on the 16th, saw Canada's Conners finish third in the PGA TOUR event at Bay Hill on nine-under, one shot ahead of Michael Kim.
That was ultimately enough to book a return to The Open - and the scene of his Championship debut in 2019 - as tournament winner Russell Henley and runner-up Collin Morikawa were already exempt.
A staple on the Open Qualifying Series, the Arnold Palmer Invitational was first staged in 1979 and some of golf’s biggest names have triumphed at Bay Hill including Champion Golfers Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson.
